Below you will find all the forms you need to get for your swim lessons. But first, here's some general information about our swim school.

Basic Information
- Kids: ages 3 – 14. Adult Classes based on seasonal demand.
- No registration fee. Classes are ½ hour $12 per class for entire session. Fall, Spring & Summer sessions offered – length of session changes with season (8 – 13 weeks) Mrs. Walker contracts for space with City – They collect all money – City requires its own paperwork first day
- Kids come twice or once a week – Class size varies by skill level – skills range from fear of water to swim team prep – lessons & improving technique – water safety rules - 6, 8 or 12 kids in class depending on level – lots of water practice. See www.kidswimbelts.com
- Goal is to help students enjoy any kind of water activity safely while using proper technique. Swimming is a repetitive sport and is reportedly a great low impact exercise. Safety comes first!
- Basic Skills to Swim Team Prep Technique – earn awards along the way to keep kids engaged!

Instruction using Learn to Swim program by American Red Cross – 6 levels of swimming – Intro & Fundamental for ages 3-5, Stroke emphasis 6 years up to adults – we tend to fast track Florida kids due to swimming weather availability – If kids reach level 6, they are ready to take lifeguard course!

- Intro to Water Skills hold breath count of 10, go under water, supported front & back float & rolling over, supported flutter kick, supported gliding, supported front crawl, jumping in, safety info (age 3)
- Fundamental Aquatic Skills Independent front & back floats and rolling over from floats, independent front & back glides, front & back crawl arms & kicks, retrieve object from underwater, jumping in, safety (age 4+)
- Stroke Development more effective gliding, front crawl with side breathing, back crawl, breast stroke, whip & dolphin kicks, treading water, retrieve object in deeper water, compact dives, water safety (age 5/6)
- Stroke Improvement Develop confidence & competency. Front & back crawl 25 yds, breast stroke 25 yds, elementary backstroke 25 yds, side stroke w/scissors kick, tread water w/modified scissors kick 2 min., forward dive, turning at wall, Rescue & Safety info (age 7/8)
- Stroke Refinement Alternate breathing, elementary back stroke, front & back crawl 50 yds, breast 50 yds, butterfly, side stroke, stride jump, forward dive from board, surface dives, turns, treading (age 9/10)
- Skill Proficiency Maximum efficiency – know all 6 strokes, flip turns and wall turns, tread 5 min., approach/hurdle on board, basic water rescue, tuck & pike dives from board if facility can accommodate, Continuous swim 500 yds including front crawl 200 yds, back crawl 100 yds, breast 100 yds, side 50 yds each, butterfly 25 yds, elementary backstroke 25 yds. retrieve brick from 10 ft, tread 5 min. Safety info. (age 11+)
